Prayer Concerns and Praises

“This is the confidence that we have in approaching God:
that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—
we know that we have what we asked of him.”
1 John 5:14-15
Join us in praying for these needs and praising Him for his answers... (updated 16 Dec. 2016)

Prayer Requests

~ Pray for Bennett and Ennrich Isaac as they attend Rendezvous 2016 - an event for high school missionary kids on the Asia Pacific Region.  Pray for safe travel to and from the event and that God will meet with them in a life transforming way.

~ Pray for our intern District Superintendents, Pastors Gideon, Meriam, and Seul, as they take on responsibilities in starting new churches and encouraging the pastors on their zones.

~ Pray for David as he prepares to teach the first class of the Diploma Program to our graduated pastors preparing them to begin teaching classes in 2017.

~ Pray for the SPNTC board meeting 18-20 January for safety for representatives traveling from Samoa, Solomon Islands and us in Vanuatu to Fiji.  Also, pray for God to give wisdom and knowledge for the business at hand.

~ Pray for the Melanesia South Pacific missionary field retreat in late January to be a time of rest and renewal of relationships.  Pray that all missionaries desiring to attend would have the funds needed for the airfare.

~ Pray for Pastors Peter and Jenny Isaac and some of our ni-Vanuatu leaders who are desiring to attend the General Assembly in June 2017 for the first time.  Pray for needed funding and for visas to be granted so they can enter the USA.

Pray for marriages in our churches that husbands and wives will be loyal to their spouses and will learn to love each other.  Cultural traditions and worldliness make it a challenge for marriages to survive.

~ Pray for our Nazarene pastors and churches as they reach out to their communities with the love of Christ that many people will turn to him and be added to the churches.

~ Pray that every pastor, student, church leader, Sunday School teacher, youth leader, church treasurer, board member, and church member will love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

~ Pray that lives will be transformed by the message of Christ and heart holiness in each community where our church is ministering - Malapoa, Black Sands, Eratap, Bladinere, Prima, Snake Hill, Mele Maat, Erakor, Teouma, Tanna villages (Lowangi, Inapoas, Imarapu, Inaoua, and others), Etas, and Aniwa village (Ikaokao).

~ Pray for the District Advisory Board and the mission team as they seek God's vision and guidance in developing building plans and organizing for the construction of the Vanuatu District Center at Erakor.

~ Pray for our MK's to "walk in truth" everyday and always - the Isaac's children: Bennett, Ennrich, and Junior; our adult children: Joel and Bekah, (Anchorage, AK), Jeffrey and Kristen (Oscoda, MI), and Wesley (Grand Rapids, MI); and our grandchildren: Dora and Sylvia, Rosie, Samuel, and Mary Ellen Joy.

Recent Praises and Answers to Prayer:

Church of the Nazarene in Vanuatu is now officially a Phase One District after 13 years of being a Pioneer Area.

Pastors and church leaders are stepping up to take responsibility and are becoming mature in their faith.

We were home in the USA when David was discovered to have a detached retina.  We praise the Lord that surgery was able to correct it.  His vision is better, but he will need another surgery when we get back to the States.

Jeffrey and Kristen delivered a beautiful baby girl in October while we were home.  Mary Ellen Joy is growing and developing perfectly.

Ongoing prayer needs:

- Our spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental health and for God’s protection over our marriage relationship, as well as for our ministry partners, Peter and Jenny Isaac and family.

- Daily dependence on God, trust in his will and way, and radical obedience to his Word.

- Unity of heart and mind with our partners, church leaders, and Vanuatu Nazarenes.

- Land for our church and needed buildings.

- God to provide financially for the ministry in Vanuatu.

- That we would be faithful and intentional in making followers of the Lord Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.

- God to call men and women to leadership positions within the Church in Vanuatu.

That by the power of Christ we will “proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ” (Colossians 1:28,29).
